AM2PM showcases Cutting-Edge 3D Printing Demo by TUM Team

The AM2PM project has released a video featuring a groundbreaking live demonstration by its partner, the Technical University of Munich (TUM). Conducted in April during an internal consortium session, the demo is now available to the public, offering a glimpse into the future of automated, intelligent additive manufacturing for construction.

Led by researchers Luca Bettermann and Martin Slepicka, the TUM team showcased their robotic system for small-scale 3D clay printing and introduced the advanced methodologies shaping AM2PM’s mission to change construction automation.

The video highlights key innovations, including:

  • Fabrication Information Modelling (FIM) for integrated design-to-production workflows.
  • Real-time Data Feedback ensuring process adaptability and precision.
  • Performance Evaluation and Process Monitoring to enhance reliability.
  • Learning-by-Printing Framework enabling continuous system improvement.
  • AI-driven Performance Prediction and Automated Process Optimisation for smarter, scalable manufacturing.

These developments are crucial to AM2PM’s goal of bridging the gap between early-stage material research and full-scale industrial implementation, bringing sustainable, efficient digital construction closer to reality.
